The South Mississippi Soccer Club (SMSC) is a member of the Mississippi Youth Soccer Association (MYSA), and affiliated with the United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA), United States Soccer Federation (USSF), and United States Amateur Soccer association (USASA). We are a non-profit Mississippi corporation, allowing tax deductible donations and contributions to the fullest extent of the law.
SMSC is primarily a Division III -Recreational Program.Our main focus is the development of soccer among the youth of our area.We strive to instill a love for the game that will last a lifetime by providing a safe, fun environment in which to play the game. For players whose abilities grow and wish to play at a higher level, SMSC has been actively pursuing the further development of its players with the All-Star (Division II) program for the U10 and older groups which will take the player beyond the regular season to tournaments around the state of Mississippi. The final level of play for SMSC is Select (Division I). SMSC has associated our Select program with Gulf Coast United Futbol Club (GCUFC) which oversees and administers the program.
SMSC has a membership of over 1,200 registered youth and amateur players and approximately 250 active coaches, referees and administrators.
SMSC in conjunction with Harrison County, MS, operates the County Farm Road Soccer Complex. An outstanding facility with 11 full size fields, a large pavilion with a concession stand, indoor restrooms, storage and meeting rooms. The Harrison County Parks and Recreation Dept. mows the grass, collects the trash, lines the fields, moves the goals, fixes the lights and fences and a whole lot of other things. SMSC could not operate without the hard work put in by the Harrison County employees who help make SMSC one of the largest clubs in Mississippi.
South Mississippi Soccer Clubs purpose is the development, regulation, and promotion of soccer and other sports and sports related activities at the youth and amateur levels.
The boundaries of SMSC will be within Harrison County and Hancock County, Mississippi. Any other organizations protected by Mississippi Youth Soccer Association within these counties are recognized. SMSC contains within its area Gulfport, MS; Long Beach, MS; Pass Christian, MS; and large areas of unincorporated Harrison County, MS; north of the listed cities including Lyman, MS; and Saucier, MS.
