Please note that SMSC charges a $5 parking fee for Great Day of Soccer. This is to offset the significant cost of hosting this event and ensures all SMSC athletes get to participate without any fee increases.
5U, 6U and 7U age groups do not pay for parking during GDOS.
The Great Day of Soccer is coming January 27&28th to County Farm Fields. SMSC teams are all registered for this event and we look forward to hosting guests to the complex for a great weekend of fun and soccer.
For 5-7U teams, GDOS is a Saturday only event with games and skills competitions ; for 8U this event is a two day jamboree with skills events on Saturday ; and for 10U-14U, GDOS is a two day tournament with skills competitions on Saturday.
ALL SMSC teams are automatically registered by the club.
GDOS Coca Cola skills events are open from 8:30am to 2:30pm on Field 2.
Special thanks to our friends at Coca Cola for their continued sponsorship of this unique community event !
The Elite Development Academy is for 8U, 10U, and 12U REC players and is designed to provide our REC athletes with an introduction to advanced training and play. This program will be curriculum based and takes the place of our All-Star program. We're excited about the improved structure and dynamic and are looking forward to making a positive impact.
How do I get my child involved ? The EDA's 'open play' day was on January 20th. If you missed it you can still attend tryouts. ALL are welcome. So bring a friend. They don't even need to be playing at SMSC.
Are there tryouts ? YES. There will be an evaluation session on February 3rd from 2:30-4PM taking place at County Farm. Check in is at the pavilion. Arrive early. There will be a crowd.
Will there be teams selected ? YES. The EDA will form groups for play after the REC season is completed. These groups will be trained inside pool play and teams will be formed within the groups as the academy continues.
How does my child get selected ? The EDA does not have a limit on the number of players we can select. However, a demonstrated foundation in the game and the ability to work in a group and follow instructions is required.
How often are practices and games ? The EDA will practice once a week until the conclusion of REC season on March 10. We will then train 2x a week with games on some weekends. Wrapping up around then first week of May. SMSC Elite select tryouts will be later in May.
What is the cost ? The EDA costs $50 (same as All Star) and players will be required to purchase an inexpensive uniform top (T-Shirt). There will be no overnight travel required with this program.

Caring for our pets and animals is a responsibility we all take to heart. We love and nurture our dogs, cats, and other creatures as members of our families. We don't want them to get hurt or be stressed out in an environment they aren't accustomed to.
That’s why Harrison County and SMSC ask that all pet owners please don't bring your animals to County Farm Soccer Fields.
